BBSmates Newsletter Topics for Friday, August 15, 2003 I know I sent out a newsletter last week, but I had some extra time this week and added a bunch of cool stuff that I thought you might like to know about. =================================================================== New Features =================================================================== Post & Reply Notifications -------------------------- There is now a feature which allows you to receive an email notification when someone replies to one of yours posts in the forum. There is also a seperate notification which will let you know when someone posts a message to a BBS forum that you are a member of. To check if you're signed up for this, log into BBSmates and click Edit Profile. Scroll down to the bottom to see these options. Upload an Image for your BBS Listing ------------------------------------ If you were the sysop or are a member of a particular BBS, you can upload an image file to the BBSmates server to be displayed beneath the details of your BBS. The image may be a screenshot of the intro ANSI you had on your BBS or maybe a picture of your computer room at the time, whatever you want! The first versions of Trade Wars dates back to the early 80's, with ideas borrowed from people back in the early 70's. John has been the sole working on Trade Wars since 1994 and acquired all rights to the game in October, 2000. His involvement with the game has included making it multiplayer, 32-bit, and writing a stand-alone game hosting server called Trade Wars Game Server. Questions to be asked for this interview will be submitted by you, so feel free to ask John any questions relating to Trade Wars 2002, TWGS, past versions of Trade Wars or whatever else you're wondering about. I reset the Trade Wars game today, with 5000 sectors rather than just 1000. Multiplayer should be a little more enjoyable now.
