Wow, what memories! I remember I got into the BBS scene back in 1991 when I had my 300 baud modem. Then my dad bought me a 2400 baud for christmas (pricey back in the day). Then like 6 months later, I spent over $200 on a 14.4!

Well, I used to frequent most of the 408 boards.

I remember that SynerChat was the most popular. We used to have meetings are Round Table. I remember Sam, Chelle, JoeBoo, Darknight, SaraBara...god I am sure if I heard more names, more memories will start to roll in.

Magic Kingdom was run by Mike Kalai, who incidentally went to my high school for a short period. I never met him in person, only talked to him over the phone. That place was cool, but if I recall correctly, it was a little pricey. They were using Major BBS which used credits as you went in and out of chat.

Then there was Dovenet. I remember meeting the owner in Milpitas. He was a cool easy going guy. But for some reason, that closed abruptly. I remember that some people would hang out there, but it wasn't as crowded as some of the other sites.

Then on Phosphor, I primarily played this one RPG game...forget the name.

Now, Nasty Playmates. I was in high school at the time, so I think the only way to sneak in was to create a new account. So unfortunately I could never have a steady identity there...but I think that was the place that had the X-rated Ansi games, wasn't it? They had stud and studette or something like that. Funny shit when I think about it.

I remember picking up copies of computer currents and checking out all of the BBS's in there to see if there was anything new.

Wow, I remember how much time I spent on those BBS's and I can't believe it! Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the hardcore chat days are long gone? It is pretty hard to meet cool people close to you in an internet chat room. Not only do you have porn messages and spambots, but people are very cautious to talk to you....

Damn, the good ol days!

Anyways, if anyone remembers me, my handle was usually **Preppy**
