Where is Maelstrom's a4000 machine?

It is here!... in my office as a shrine for NewTek... it has DigiView hooked up to it (NewTek's first product), and is still operational. My office also has a boing ball hoisted above my office.

Oh btw... for those who are into mods, and used Octamed, I've now got the sourcecode and am maintaining the current PC version of this software. I've put some of my mods (in midi form) on my website www.termstech.com keep an eye out for when I put new music there.

Speaking of people's A4000 machines, dig what happened to mine...

Last Friday I got a CD burner c/o eBay...so on Friday night I installed it into my A4000 Power Tower. I realized how long ago it was that I opened the case as there was a spider web or two inside. Anyway, CD burner reads ultra-fast, won't write...always gives a SCSI error of some kind or hangs during a write. Ehhh, don't have time to deal with it; I'll fiddle with the termination and stuff tomorrow.

So Saturday night I open the case -- and I find MOUSE POOP all over!!! Mouse poop on the power supply cord!!! Mouse poop on my Prelude!!! Mouse poop on the bottom of the case!!! Mouse poop on BOTH of my hard drives!!!! And the weird thing is one of my hard drives is located just millimeters below the power supply, so there's barely any room...

Of course I'm wondering how the "F" the mouse poop got in there...so a couple of nights ago I looked at the back of the computer and realized that I totally forgot that I have two openings by unoccupied Zorro slots -- I took out the blanking plates for ventilation. But how did the poop get on my power supply cable on the inside? Mouse must have climbed up the tower via the mess-o-'cables I have there, including cables that extend my USB ports to the front -- those cables are routed through a hole in the top of the tower where a blanking plate used to be...so the mouse must have gotten in through open blanking plate at the top, evacuated on the power cable, then hopped to a hard drive, evacuated, hopped to the other hard drive, evacuated, and climbed down to the bottom, using my Zorro cards as steps (and evacuating on all of 'em), then exiting via an open Zorro blanking plate.

I have since taped all the openings shut. I didn't feel like opening the case again and putting blanking plates in...I knew there wasn't any living thing inside, but I didn't feel like going through the hassle..

Yeah... that was bad >;)

That's cool about the new website. Will there be a forum there similar to this? I'm learning about databases now in class... so maybe we could set one up if there is enough interest to do so... but right now things are kind of busy for me... We got to get ready for our new baby in August. :)

btw... I've managed to find time to make some improvements to my website... (www.termstech.com) it has a recent picture of me playing the drums at our christmas party. It also includes a JAVA applet that computes interest (this was a class assignment).
