Just thought I would say hey...

It seems to be happening less frequently as we roll into 2005 - but I still find myself surfing the web, or ebay, for atari bbs related items - or remembering all the good times I had calling alaska to download warez at 300 baud on someone elses MCI code.

Awesome times back then and met a lot of good folks.. Who knows where they are now - .COM giants, or maybe in prison over drugs, who knows - but at the time it was a feeling and a realtionship among people that were mostly all within the same area code that I would never meet face to face.

Thanks to everyone that might pass through this forum, and also to those who will not.

One half of the reason that I am the person I am today - gifted with a knack for solving IT related issues - my father - has passed away in December. He screamed and yelled at me for want, want, wanting more computer equipment - I had to write a proposal at the age of 12 in order to get him to get me my own phone line, and when the Secret Service knocked on my door in 1994 he was none too pleased - but he was always supportive of my interests and it has paid off by providing me with a career that I assume will last for the rest of my life.

Keep the faith guys - dont let the carrier tone die!!

Doctor_X, Blitz, Ryche, Digital Dictator, and whatever other handles I might have used.

History of aliases used...

"Doctor_X, Blitz, Ryche, Digital Dictator, and whatever other handles I might have used."

Ok so what was the time frame of the names used?  What's the story Doctor X?

For me it would have gone something like this:

Hal jordan (generally the name used when a real name had to be used, early Atari BBSs)

The Clu (Used on C=64 BBSs)

Xanthic Knight (The name on the JYBOLAC BBS and other later Atari BBSs)

Winky the Lost (name used during the 90's)

Doctor Clu  (Name used from 1998 onward).

So what is the history, what inspired the names would be what I would talk of next.
