Second Tradewars game?
Posted: 3/16/2005 10:55:08 PM
Does this board have Tradewars Gold version functionality registered? And if so, would it be possible to setup a second game?
Gold functionality needs to be registered - i.e. "paid for" - on top of the "classic" Tradewars functionality, and allows for the editing of various things that cannot be edited in the Classic version of the game, primarily ships and planet types, as well as individual alien traders and Ferrengi, and various other things. You can also import somebody else's edits, which is the main reason I'm asking for a second game. There is a really fun, quality edit called "Moon Patrol" that I cannot find on any of the TW game servers since it's home server went down.
Moon Patrol has a higher number of worthwhile ships than the classic version, which only has about 4 ships worth using for any purpose. Moon Patrol also has several varied and worthwhile planets - only one planet type is useless, as I recall, while in classic mode only one (Class H) or two (if you include the Class L) planet types are worth anything.
Moon Patrol can be found for download (amongst several other game edits) at
Alternatively, I can e-mail it to the sysop.
If we can run a second game using the Moon Patrol edits, I'd also like to suggest game settings in a subsequent post....
