Well, I see this game is for the sole pleasure of a couple jerks, So CaliChik and Richard Smoker enjoy "YOUR" game, it isn't worth the aggrivation, to work hard to get ahead just to be destroyed. Kazzam

yeah, i noticed that too and quit playing. it's pretty hard to get a good start in TW2002 without powerful players dropping smack on you _every_ day.

Jerks, listen up.

If you want to slap a minefield up around your planet to prevent people from getting to it, then slap a message beacon in the surrounding sector(s).

This is so newbie players don't just shoot right into your sector without having a chance to cower.

This hasn't happened to me anytime lately, but then I have a pretty good get-started strategy and jerks don't enter into it. I won't give it away, but very simply put, you have to stay in FedSpace till you will be towed if you stay there. By then, if you're playing your cards right, you should be able to afford Cloaking Devices. Always buy two at a time, if you can. That way, you don't run out of turns before you can get to the Stardock to purchase one.

if you goto www.eisonline.com and visit the forums there youll find lotsa places to play but just a warning most people that visit that site are fanatic or seasoned vets but theres alot of good info for newbies and vets alike
the website is run by the people that made the game. scripters or macronatics usually rule the games these days so finding a good tradewars program or something like ZOC could help.
SWATH TWXproxy are a few programs off the top of my head

What if someone actually wants to PLAY, not to be the kind of loser who lets a script play for him?

I can hold my own against anyone in an honest game of Tradewars, but when scripting gets involved then ability has nothing to do with it...why even bother to play with a script?

You can't do that...if you do, you ATTRACT jerks. You want the planet to be as deep in a dead end as possible WITHOUT any hint in the next sector over to give it away. Or, if you're making the minefield two sectors deep, you want the NEXT sector to look innocent, et cetera. You cannot warn people about minefields, or you might as well just announce your planet's location to everyone and get it over with.

Oh jeez, that doesn't sound very promising...I started yesterday, and had a corporate flagship and cloaking device at the end of my turn on that same day. You shouldn't, if you're experienced, need to spend a single day in fedspace.

What's more, in this particular game doing so is nearly impossible, because that A-Hole running the Where'sGeorge corp has planted single fighters almost anywhere you might want to go, so either you go nowhere or your alignment goes negative without attacking a single good player/alien, just from blowing up his fighters in order to get around.
